UCCD’s Sixth Annual CHINA Town Hall; A success!

The Sixth Annual CHINA Town Hall: Local Connections, National Reflections presented by the National Committee on U.S. China Relations, the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy (UCCD) and Westminster College, was a success. Our format included an introduction of the program by UCCD Executive Director Laura Dupuy, opening remarks by Dean Jin Wang of the Gore School of Business, followed by the national webcast presentation by U.S. Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China Gary F. Locke. After the national webcast concluded, Dean Wang introduced Guest Speaker Michael McCune. McCune gave a very impressive presentation. We were all very pleased with his lecture. We even had audience members compliment his presentation and ask for his PowerPoint slides afterwards. Following the conclusion of Mr. McCune’s speech, we held a light reception with desserts and hot beverages. Overall, the night was a success; we had a good turnout (almost 50 people), enjoyed the Ambassador’s speech and loved Mr. McCune’s presentation. There weren’t any problems with the audio or visual components. Our audience was comprised of UCCD members, Westminster College faculty (President of Westminster College Dr. Brian Levin-Stankevich, Dean Jin Wang of the Gore School of Business), prestigious local citizen diplomats (Ambassador John Price), Westminster students (both international and domestic) and business professionals.
