Armenian LGBTQ Activists: A Community Conversation

Armenian LGBTQ Activists: A Community Conversation

Interested in the international fight for LGBTQ rights?

Come to a panel discussion to hear from five Armenian LGBTQ activists who are visiting Utah as guests of the United States Congress.

In Armenia, a failure to respect, protect, and fulfill the rights of LGBTQ people pervades all levels of society and there is no legislation that guards against discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Violent attacks on LGBTQ community members are commonplace and in 2015 a constitutional amendment was passed that effectively bans same-sex marriage.

These five visiting activists are leaders at the forefront of Armenian efforts to push for more legal protections, societal visibility, and community support. Don't miss out on a wonderful chance to meet these change makers, hear their stories, and ask them questions about their experiences.
