Join Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy and the US Department of State in an exchange between high school students from Utah, Peru, and Bolivia! This event, free and open for high school students, brings together young people to learn the ins-and-outs of international relations.
During this diplomacy simulation, students will play in five teams negotiating to solve an international migration crisis. Participants will need to advocate for their ideal outcome, finding compromise that will work with each party. This simulation will give you real experience in diplomacy.

Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy is excited to welcome 13 high school students from Peru and Bolivia to Utah as part of the United States Department of State's Youth Ambassador exchange program. The theme of the exchange is Multiculturalism and Civic Engagement.
This event is an opportunity for Utah's high school students to participate in actual diplomacy, make connections with peers, and learn about experiences around the world.
Play as one of six teams responding to the persecution and migration of the Rubit minority from the fictional nation of Budan. Will the United States, Gilbia, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees be able to convince Budan to pull back restrictive laws on the Rubit minority? Or will Budan and Malil continue to cause a refugee crisis, causing the nations of the world to negotiate the housing of thousands of refugees?

Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy is proud to facilitate diplomacy simulations created by the National Museum of American Diplomacy. This diplomacy simulation program allows high school and college students, as well as educators, to step into the shoes of diplomats as they grapple with complex foreign affairs topics such as nuclear proliferation, international migration, and pandemics.
