Dear Friends of Utah Global Diplomacy,
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, recently shared that the global number of forcibly displaced people has passed 100 million for the first time. Grandi continues, "This must serve as a wake-up call to resolve and prevent destructive conflicts, end persecution and address the underlying causes that force innocent people to flee their homes."
My director's message for June is short and straightforward. Utah Global Diplomacy is committed to the following values:

- A belief that the people of the world are interconnected;
- Open and respectful dialogue.
Our call to action is for each of you to be committed to the same values and take it one step further by doing something that makes the world a better place to live for everyone. Whether your passion is refugees, education, gender equality, veterans, animals, or climate change, I ask that you give your time, talents, and treasure to those nonprofits who work tirelessly in the trenches giving back the dignity to those who have lost theirs. If you don't know where to start, I invite you to contact me, and I will gladly give you suggestions of some exceptional nonprofits in Utah to support.
